Wherever possible all facts and dates have been verified from second sources such as census and death registers.
Any errors when reported should be accompanied with adequate evidence of the correction to be made.
The family has a collection of Postcards from 1911-1922 sent to the siblings (3rd Generation) by Auntie Edie and Uncle George. Edie & George travelled through Germany, Siberia, Kobe Japan , Hong Kong and Singapore within this period. We would love to know who they were as no surviving relatives can recall. It is however suspected they may have been from the Chandler family. Edith (Edie) Chandler was the sister of Alice Chandler and they had a brother George. George William married Elsie Catherine and are recorded as travelling on the S.S. Columbia from Shanghai, China to San Francisco, California, USA , together with two children, Harold and Norman Chandler, arriving 6th November 1920.

In 1928 again they were in the Middle East sending Postcards from Bierut, Syria , this time to Arthur James Gritton who in 1928 was at No.2 Mess, RAF Headquarters, Baghdad, Iraq.

Josephine Gritton has memories around 1940 of visiting a family plum orchard at Kingswood Chase, Thundersley, Essex . Paul Wonnacott also has memories of visiting the same orchard during the early/mid 1950s. However neither of us seem to be able to identify which family member this orchard belonged.
